Audio problems with RDP Clients

Postby abh » July 26th, 2013, 7:37 pm

About a year ago, I posted here (http://forum.delphiarea.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2014) to get help with a problem where terminal server clients would lose audio randomly. We eventually found a patch from Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2494136/EN-US) that seemed to fix that problem.

One of our terminal servers has recently been upgraded to Windows 2008 R2, and now we have a new problem. Occasionally we'll get an error reported back from the TStockAudioPlayer that says "There is no driver installed on your system", or "The specified device handle is invalid". What's very strange is that both of these messages will come up within a session where audio had previously been playing just fine -- one minute it's working, the next minute you have an exception on the screen. The patched referenced above is apparently not valid with the 2008 R2.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how we might diagnose or correct this problem?

This is still a problem for us, I don't believe it's a problem with the TStockAudioPlayer, but would greatly appreciate any thoughts / ideas for how we might resolve it.
