PicShow

Postby jcoutu » August 29th, 2007, 10:18 pm

Hi.

I am using the TPicShow and I am getting an "Access Violation" when I attach code to the OnAfterNewFrame.

The code I am adding adds the bitmap frame to an animated gif. The code works fine (no errors) for all styles except 120,121,122,123 (Pivots) and 169 (Dissolve).

The error appears to be happening in the Effect169 procedure and the MergeRotate procedure on the second frame. The styles work fine without the code and as I mentioned, the other styles work fine with the code.

Any ideas as to what might be happening?

Nice component, by the way.

Without seeing your code, it's almost impossible to figure out the problem.

While trying to create an example for you, I discovered a work around. If I use the screen bitmap in the OnAfterNewFrame, I get the error for those particular styles. If I assign the bitmap to a timage and then add the bitmap from the timage to the animated gif, the error does not happen.

I suspect it is some combination of tpicshow and tgifimage. No need to debug if there's a decent workaround.

Thanks for your quick reply.
