xml, dom, switching from xdom 2.4 to xpdom

Hello all!
I am trying to replace my xdom based code with xpdom one.
Basically I need to get rid of the WideStringToDom (belongs to 'TXmlToDomParser' class) function which I have no documentation about, to another function which might be LoadDataSource (belongs to the 'TXpObjModel' class). The later simply loads a file from the file system. I'm not even sure what the first one does...
I'd really appreciate any ideas.
