TReal-Time Marquee and Windows 7

Postby oio_sdk » January 11th, 2010, 6:38 am

Hi Kambiz, could you test the component on Windows 7 (or Vista)?
On Xp I got really smooth movement, but not in Windows 7, I though this is not timer issue, but GDI drawing issue.

May the Desktop Windows Manager (DWM) related? a group of APIs called DWM API might solve the problem; DwmIsCompositionEnabled, etc...

Thank you

Hmm, I though Vista using the same graphics technology with Windows 7... now I guess not.
Can you test it on Windows 7 please? let me know if RTM also run smoothly...

- Windows 7 6.1 build 7600, Core2Duo 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM, NVidia Quadro NVS 140M (256MB)

I am going to move on Windows 7 soon. After that I'll check the component, and let you know about the result.

Finally I moved on Windows 7.

Well, RTM runs on Windows 7 as smooth as Windows Vista/XP.

By the way, here is my computer's configuration:

  • Windows 7 Ultimate x64 v6.1.7600
  • Intel Core2 Duo 2.33GHz
  • 4GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT
I've compiled RTM with Delphi 7, with and without Theme Manager.
Shortly I'll check it out with Delphi 2010.
