Facebook Application

Postby Kambiz » December 30th, 2009, 1:33 am

After spending a lot of time on studying Facebook API and thinking about what application can be useful to write, I encountered to this message on Facebook:

Due to requirements imposed by United States law, we are required to restrict users from your country from creating or managing applications on Facebook Platform.

Here we are a threat for national security and out there we are a threat for international security. How frustrating!

Hey Kambiz,

I could try setting up a p_r_o_x_y for you to work via?

Cheers,
Stefan

Thank you Stefan! It would be nice if you can help me to workaround this problem.

I always use a tunneling thing, because almost everything on web is censored including all news and social sites. Currently I use only T O R, because other things are already blocked. But I wonder how Facebook and Google recognize that I'm from Iran.

By the way, by naming P_R_O_X_Y here, this forum will be automatically censored, and them nobody from Iran can reach it. :)

And that reminds me... I meant to ask you if you have any experience building iPhone apps?

Thank you Stefan! I found how Facebook found out that I am from Iran. I was indicated that in my personal information, in hometown field. Stupid!

I have no experience even in touching iPhone, let alone programming for it.
