Windows Mobile 6.1 and Unicode

Postby Kambiz » January 23rd, 2009, 9:19 am

Apparently Windows Mobile already supports Unicode, but I see rectangles instead of Unicode characters.
Even in SMS settings there is an option for enabling Unicode, but changing that option has no effect.

Does anybody know what is the problem?

I've got the same problem!
There are some apps enabling you too view Arabic characters . I haven't tried them on my device (having WinMo 6.1) but as it was discussed in some forums they don't work properly on every devices !
I will response too Farsi messages like this : "Farsi nadaram" and I will get a Pingilish (Fingilish) message instead! :))
Maybe you should try doing it :D!
Or probably we should try WinMo 7 when it is available and wish too be able to read Farsi!

I thought maybe fonts on my pocket PC are not Unicode. Therefore I copied some Unicode fonts (like Arial, Times New Roman, Tahoma), from my PC to the packet PC. Now I can see Persian words in Office Word but I looks like looking in the mirror.

It means my Windows Mobile does not support Middle East languages. What a pity! :(
