Delphi 6 and Firebird 2.1

We have a Delphi 6 app that uses Firebird as its database. We upgraded Firebird from 1.5 to 2.1 with only minor issues. One issue is the Interbase Admin (IBConfigService, IBBackupService) components. The backup and restore functionality is working, but the shutdown and start up functionality is not working.

Does anyone know of any compatibility issues with these older components and Firebird 2.1?
