Playing mp3 streams over the net...?

I have coded a multimedia player in Delphi 6 and would like to know if it is possible to stream mp3 music from computers outside a LAN i.e. over the net? If so would it be possible to control the mutimedia player to play mp3s from another computer hard drive and stream the music to play on it?

Any help would be appreciated?
